Let us join our sisters and brothers in CVX Puerto Rico in prayer.
About CLC in Puerto Rico CLC has been in Puerto Rico since it began. There are 7 CLC communities – 5 in San Juan and 2 in Mayaquez.
CVX Puerto Rico’s effort to respond to the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria Three months ago, Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria. The entire power grid was destroyed, more than one thousand people were killed, and thousands were left homeless when their houses were damaged by wind and flooding. Life was utterly disrupted for everyone.
Tito Marini, a leader of CLC in Puerto Rico, reported to Ann Marie Brennan last week:
"We are overcoming limitations on the electrical power. After 3 months we still have more than 50% of the households without power and 10% without water. Some towns in the mountains still are struggling without electricity, water and good access.”
CLC members are experiencing the same losses as everyone else in Puerto Rico. Despite this, they are trying to be an information source for Caritas Puerto Rico, and are planning a mission to one of the hardest hit communities in the coming weeks.
They are buoyed by the prayers and support of CLC members around the world, and deeply appreciate this effort to organize CLC communities in The US to pray for them.
For those seeking ways to help, CVX Puerto Rico suggests making donations to Caritas Puerto Rico at

Let us pray for our CLC sisters and brothers in Puerto Rico as they continue to respond personally and communally to the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
