Father Jose de Pablo, SJ, our recently appointed CVX-CLC World Ecclesiastical Assistant, joined our National Coordinating Council meeting on Saturday, September 19-Father Jose noted that his virtual meeting with Ex-Co and NCC was his first in his new role as World EA. He spoke of his spiritual journey and the importance of working toward the universal good, and that Jesuits, CLC and others join to promote the mission of Christ, that we are an apostolic body. Father Jose spoke of how his work as the CVX-CLC World Ecclesiastical Assistant will be to help facilitate discernment, of listening, of helping the team to reach goals. He noted that being at the 2018 World CLC meeting in Buenos Aires was a very powerful experience, and that as a facilitator, he felt it was a very profound experience. CLC-USA members reported that his message was encouraging and very personable.
Our National Coordinating Council annual meeting, is normally a three to four day in-person working meeting. This year, we are completing a World CLC multiple page survey in addition to the work involved in reviewing our five year plan that was developed at the 2019 Pittsburgh CLC-USA Assembly. There are a few more follow-up sessions that will continue the work of this year’s NCC meeting. A more complete report will follow.
Saturday evening about 80 CLC-USA members joined Father John Lan Tran, SJ for Mass. Members expressed gratitude for being able to join together as community and that they felt joy and happiness at being able to connect with each other. Ex-Co and NCC members were also at the Mass.
